Human Rights: Rights for Humans?

✦

It all sounds rather incredible. It’s often an over-used word: Orwellian. The idea that in 2018, we are having to restate the fundamental premise that human beings have inalienable rights.

Doyenne of Corbyn’s socially progressive leftist revolution, Diane Abbott has been unbridled in her accusations against the toxic Tory machine:

It is completely unacceptable to break well established policy on the death penalty without confirming any legal basis to do so, and in secret. The Home Secretary needs to explain his actions

Steve Swinford is Deputy Political Editor of that bastion of left wing ideals, The Telegraph. He has gone further, evidently trying to reassure the growing contingent of gammony ‘Brexscists’ (Brexit and fascist-friendly) in the Tory Party currently metamorphosing into the Brexit National Party (BNP?) this summer, that Javid is their boy:

Sajid Javid facing big backlash from Tory ministers this morning over decision to abandon opposition to death penalty in case of 'Beatles’. One minister: 'This completely cuts across 25 years of Government policy, it should be rescinded today. It’s immoral and unacceptable’

Human rights are in place for a reason. It’s only a test when we vehemently dislike those who require those human rights. The moment we start compromising them because we don’t like those people, it is we who become tyrants.

The challennge for our Tory Uncle Tom, Sajid Javid, our new Home Secretary, is that whilst he is proving he’s the right kind of ethnic minority, he has become entirely subordinate to inhumane policies, politics and interests. Sajid, since when are we a vassal state of the US?

Be clear. Human rights cuckoldery is masochism of the highest order. You let them come for them. You let them come for me. Then they’ve come for you.

From one son of immigrants to another; albeit you’re one who seemingly feels no affinity for the human rights enshrined in our democratic and political British system, and one who appears to be happy to work for and in a party currently shifting beyond Cameron’s 'muscular liberalism' hard right to FAR RIGHT; this isn’t the way. I’ve said it at length, making people stateless is unenlightened and creates more sylos of terrorism and extremism. Just overseas. Hence your response is high walls. Just in case. The better response is not to become Trump’s 51st state, to stand our ground, and deal with our own.

The statement from barrister, Shami Chakrabarti, Labour’s Shadow Attorney General and former director of Liberty is embarrassing for the Tories. It increases the cacophony of voices and 600,000 members looking for Labour to take power this autumn.

Our fear should be what damage is an outgoing Tory party willing to do with no repurcussions. This isn’t democracy. This isn’t governance. This is a human rights smash and grab.
